A large sinkhole in the middle of the road has closed part of Yonkers Road in Raleigh.
The WRAL Breaking News Tracker arrived at the scene on Yonkers Road near the Raleigh Boulevard intersection at 7:30 a.m. on Monday. Drone 5 flew over the hole, which appeared to be deep and at least several feet in diameter.
Traffic signs and orange tape surrounded the large hole, and Raleigh police were blocking the road. Raleigh police said the hole was caused by a stormwater pipe collapse.
Drivers are asked to use Capital Boulevard to access Yonkers Road.
WRAL News is working to learn when the road will reopen.
