Albany Police: Suspect in troubling videos arrested, in custody in Colonie

ALBANY, NY (WRGB) — UPDATE: Albany Police say the suspect depicted in troubling videos circulating in the area has been arrested.

Through further investigation, they report, the suspect in the video was identified and located Sunday afternoon by members of the Albany Police Department. He was arrested on the strength of unrelated outstanding warrants and turned over to the custody of the Colonie Police Department.

At this time, the identify of the suspect is withheld in order to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigations and investigative procedures.

The Albany Police Department is looking for information on a video circulating on social media platforms.

The department released a statement, saying, “The Albany Police Department is aware of, and deeply troubled by, videos circulating on social media which show an individual that appears to be physically assaulting multiple victims.

At this time, no police reports have been made, as victims have not come forth or been identified. However, the department has opened an investigation and is actively seeking assistance in identifying victims.
