Even before Rossy Ogawa launched his new joshi (Japanese women’s wrestling) promotion Marigold, we knew that one of its top stars — Giulia — was on her way to WWE.
At Marigold’s show today (July 30), Giulia announced plans for the end of her run with Ogawa’s company. Her last match for Marigold will be at the Aug. 19 stop on their Summer Gold Shine tour at Tokyo’s Korakuen Hall. No word on an opponent for that one, but Giulia did say she’ll have five total matches left before leaving — in addition to the Korakuen farewell, that will presumably be one each on the four Marigold shows between now and Aug. 19 — and hopes to share the ring with as many talents as she can during that time.
Giulia didn’t say “WWE” in her promo. But seeing as she’s already appeared on one WWE NXT show and been name-dropped on others, we don’t need the Rumor Roundup to tell us what she meant when she said she was “going to challenge the world of professional wrestling”.

At one point, WWE was allegedly considering booking Giulia in a big title match early in her NXT run. If that’s still the case, the schedule she laid out today would free her up for Sept. 1’s No Mercy premium live event in Denver…
