NEOPro Wrestling to hold its Gold Rush Royale event at Quaker Hall | News, Sports, Jobs

SALEM — NEOPro Wrestling are set to bring an evening of professional wrestling featuring a former ECW, WWE and TNA legend to Salem.

NEOPro Wrestling will be holding its Gold Rush Royale event at Quaker Hall Aug. 17, featuring the titular Gold Rush Royale match, a 15-man match for a shot at the NEOPro Wrestling Championship at NEOPro’s upcoming Set the Standard show in September. This match is set to feature former ECW, WWE and TNA (Total Nonstop Action) wrestler Rhino.

A veteran of the business for over 30 years, and a household name among professional wrestling fans, Rhino was named number 10 in the Pro Wrestling Illustrated top 500 singles wrestlers in 2001 and has won over 30 championships in his career including the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, Impact Tag Team championship, WWF Hardcore Championship, WCW United States Championship, WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship, and the ECW World Heavyweight and World Television Heavyweight Championships. Rhino is also considered by many wrestling fans to be the last true ECW Champion as he held both championships when the company shut down in 2001 prior to a revival under the WWE umbrella from 2006 through 2010.

Other matches currently scheduled for Gold Rush Royale include a NEOPro Wrestling Woman’s Championship match between champion Megan Meyers and Hyena Hera; NEOPro Wrestling Champion Patrick Hayes vs. Eric Fallen; a NEOPro Wrestling Tag Team Championship Contenders rematch between DDTrash (Bruce Grey and Ron Mathis) and Studio 86 (Bill Martel and Mazerati Rick); former TNA Knockouts Champion and TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Champion, Havok vs. Harley Fairfax; and Pastor C-Lo vs. Butchie B.

Doors open at 5 p.m., and the show begins at 6 p.m. It will be preceded by a meet and greet with Rhino at 5 p.m. where attendees can get a selfie with Rhino for $25, a signed 8X10 photo for $25 or both for $30, or bring their own item to be signed for $40. While front row tickets for the event have sold out, general admission tickets can still be purchased in advance online at www.neoprotix.com, for $15, or in person the day of the show for $20.
