13-year-old Mobile girl facing charges after crashing grandparents’ car in Florida

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WALA) – A 13-year-old runaway from Mobile will be facing criminal charges after she crashed her grandparents’ vehicle in Escambia County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

According to the FHP, the girl’s grandparents reported her missing to Mobile police after they awoke Wednesday morning to finding her and their vehicle gone.

Florida troopers responding to a wreck on Pine Forest Road on Wednesday morning found the girl after she had crash the sedan into a ditch, authorities said.

The girl suffered minor injuries and was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital before being released to her grandparents, the FHP said.
