Binghamton police investigators have announced the bodies of two men and a woman who had been reported missing have been located.
Detectives late Wednesday afternoon said the deaths of the Binghamton men are considered “suspicious in nature.”
According to a police department news release, 58-year-old Daniel McCloe and 55-year-old Marshall VanOven had been reported missing.
Police received two separate missing person reports involving McCloe and VanOven on Monday evening. Investigators were advised the men were acquaintances of each other.
Police received information that prompted detectives to check a West Side residence on Wednesday. Investigators found two bodies at the house. They were identified as McCloe and VanOven.
Police would not reveal the location of the residence where the bodies were found. They did not indicate the cause of death or whether a possible suspect is being sought.
People with information about the deaths may contact the Binghamton police detective division at (607) 772-7080.
Investigators also revealed that police found the body of a Binghamton woman in the Susquehanna River on the West Side.
The body of 45-year-old Chiara Liburdi was located just east of Vermont Avenue. She had been reported as a missing person since January 11.
City police were assisted by a New York State Police K9 unit and by the state police Underwater Recovery Team.
