TRAVELERS REST, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – An expansion project will break ground in the fall at an immersive Airbnb-style hideaway in Travelers Rest.
The multi-million dollar project is happening at “The Station” which is located off the Swamp Rabbit Trail.
Property at “The Station” totaling 6.5 acres is to be transformed into a building with a food hall at the bottom and 16 rooms on top and a separate event space.
Brice Bay, CEO of Campo Hotels said, “It would have been easy to come in here and put 150 lodging units on this spot and have giant parking lots. What we are doing we think is much more responsible to nature, to the site, to the people using the trail and that is very much part of our DNA.”
Management is hoping to open some of the new property in 2026.
