Netflix and WWE Explored Alternative Show Before RAW Deal

The destination for Monday Night RAW after the USA Network deal was disclosed this week, as WWE’s longest-running show is set to move to the streaming giant Netflix in 2025. The deal’s done, but it appears Netflix and WWE were considering an alternative show before they landed on the RAW deal.

We have reported that WWE and Netflix confirmed their huge deal to move Monday Night RAW to the streaming service, which will begin in January 2025. The reported deal, valued at over $5 billion for a duration of ten years, shocked fans all over the world.

Brandon Thurston of WrestleNomics shared insights from TKO COO Mark Shapiro’s talk at the Morgan Stanley Conference. Shapiro revealed that WWE initially discussed airing NXT on Netflix before talks shifted to moving RAW to the streaming service.

The discussions about RAW led to conversations about global rights. Shapiro credited WWE President Nick Khan and TKO CFO Andrew Schleimer for their roles in negotiating the deal.

We will have to wait and see how WWE will change as a whole once their deal with Netflix begins at the start of 2025, as there is a lot of hype and excitement behind it.
