Students learned about the applications of digital sensors and programming in agriculture through hands-on activities and tours. 2023-24 Child Development Center, Hammond, IN Hydroponic Display and in-school production of leafy greens 2023 Pre-College Molecular Agriculture Summer Institute (PC MASI), Purdue University High school students researched a project related to digital agriculture and presented key components learned through research. 2023 East Chicago High School Summer Internship Taught about hydroponic crop production to high school children belonging to minority groups during the internship 2022 and 2019 MANRRS (Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Related Sciences) program, Purdue University The project director hosted several high school students and provided educational tours about digital agricultural research opportunities that exist for students in his laboratory and at Purdue. 2021-23 Crop production programs in elementary and middle schools (Otterbein and Walcott, Indiana) Deployed indoor production units and developed a plant science curriculum for schoolchildren. 2021 Booker T Washington High School, Houston, Texas Presented digital agriculture and hydroponic crop production to high school students in Agriculture, Food & Nat. Res class 2018 Career development programs in middle schools in Tippecanoe and Marion counties, Indiana Showcased low-cost digital technologies in agriculture, and presented to schoolchildren about college education and opportunities.
