The wrestling world was taken aback by Scott D’Amore’s sudden exit as TNA President, given his significant role in the promotion. In a surprising turn of events, D’Amore’s Maple Leaf Pro company has now announced its inaugural show following its revival.
Anthem Sports & Entertainment Inc. angered the wrestling community by appointing Anthony Cicione as the new President of TNA Wrestling, replacing the long-serving Scott D’Amore. D’Amore’s exit marked the end of a significant era, during which he was instrumental in guiding TNA through various changes and challenges.
As previously reported, a trademark for “Maple Leaf Wrestling” was filed earlier this year and the address listed for the filing matches the corporate address of Scott D’Amore’s Border City Wrestling promotion and continued to make other strides in the business as well.
As it turns out, Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling announced its revival on Twitter and it was confirmed that there will be return events taking place on October 19 and October 20 and will take place at St. Clair College, Windsor, Ontario. Raj Dhesi, Gisele Shaw, Josh Alexander, KUSHIDA and more will be part of the return events.
”@ScottDAmore revives Maple Leaf Wrestling as #MAPLELEAFPRO. History meets the future with #MLPForgedInExcellence” this October, featuring stars like Raj Dhesi, @Walking_Weapon , @GiseleShaw08 , KUSHIDA, and more. Tickets on sale August 26!”
Scott D’Amore is also allegedly being paid to stay at home till early next year. Nonetheless, this is certainly big news for Scott D’Amore and we will have to wait and see how the upcoming return events for Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling will fare.
