
SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State women’s tennis heads to Florida as it continues its spring season. The Bobcats will face the University of South Florida on Friday at 11 a.m. and will take on Florida A&M on Saturday at 11 a.m.
Both of the Bobcats’ matches will take place at the USF Varsity Tennis Complex.
Texas State will look to get back in the win column this weekend after dropping its last two matches to No. 4 Oklahoma State and UTSA.
Junior Ireland Simme competed at USF from 2022-24 and is one of two TXST players who are unbeaten in singles matches this season. Simme is 1-0 on court six and has had two matches go unfinished on court five.
Tadiwa Mauchi is the other Bobcat who has yet to drop a singles match. Mauchi is 1-0 on court No. 4 and was in the third set of her singles match against UTSA when it went unfinished.

USF comes into the match looking for its first win of the season. The Bulls have dropped their last three matches against No. 2 Texas A&M, the University of Denver and Stetson.
Friday’s match will be the first time the teams have faced each other in tennis.

Like USF, Florida A&M will also be looking for its first win of the season against the Bobcats. The Rattlers have lost to two Sun Belt Conference teams this season, falling 6-1 to both Georgia Southern and Troy.
This marks the first match between Texas State and Florida A&M in tennis.
