The University of Georgia announced that classes and all other activities will remain open on Tuesday, Jan. 21.
UGA has been actively monitoring the winter storm and has decided that the current predictions don’t pose too much of a risk. The university is advising that everyone check official UGA pages to stay up to date in case anything changes regarding the storm.
An email sent out by UGA provided some helpful tips to say safe during this weather:
- Monitor local weather at weather.gov
- Verify your UGA Alert contact information to ensure your ability to receive emergency messages at ugaalert.uga.edu
- Review individual preparedness information at prepare.uga.edu
- Keep your cell phone and other portable devices charged
- Avoid any non-essential travel during winter storms
- Review winter weather preparation information at gema.georgia.gov/winter
- Download the UGA Safe app, the official safety app for UGA, at prepare.uga.edu/uga-safe
