Arizona Wildcats Women’s Golf sits in the middle of the standings after round one of the Darius Rucker Invitational. As a team they are tied for 12th after a 16-over par round in windy conditions. The Wildcats were led by a steady opening round from Charlotte Back as the team looked to climb the leaderboard heading into day two.
Charlotte Back was the low Wildcat through the first 18 holes after carding an even-par 71. She turned in rounds of 35 and 36 to sit inside the top ten of the individual standings.
Nena Wongthanavimok finished at 4-over par after posting a 75, highlighted by a strong 34 on the back nine. Julia Misemer came in at 5-over with a 76, while freshman Kinsley Ni added a 78 (+7) in her opening round. Sara Vitasek rounded out the Arizona lineup with an 80 (+9).
The Wildcats return to the course tomorrow at 9:10am MST looking to make a move up the leaderboard.
