MARIETTA — The Memorial Health Foundation received a combined $398,544 from 250 donors on Giving Tuesday.
“The outpouring of support we received from our sponsors has made an incredible impact on our mission to provide world-class health care services to individuals in our community regardless of their ability to pay,” said Jarrett Stull executive director of the not-for-profit foundation, which provides education, special patient assistance funds, charity care, medical equipment and funding to areas of need in the Memorial Health System and the community.
Throughout the day on Nov. 28, local companies sponsored Power Hours and offered matching gifts, doubling the impact of every donation, according to a release from the Foundation. Morrison Inc., Marietta Welfare League, Peoples Bank, Southeastern Ohio Credit Union and West Virginia Central Federal Credit Union were recognized for issuing challenges for the community to rally around.
“We are proud to have been part of Memorial Health Foundation’s Giving Tuesday campaign,” Morrison Inc. President David Haas said in the release. “It’s heartwarming to see how our community comes together to support such a vital cause. The impact of these collective efforts is truly remarkable.”
All the funds raised during the day play a role in supporting Memorial Health Foundation’s 30-plus patient-centered caring initiatives, which are designed to enhance health care services and improve the lives of individuals in the community, the release said.
“The exceptional support from our community during Giving Tuesday has been extraordinary,” Memorial Health System President and CEO Scott Cantley said in the release. “It underscores our shared commitment to enhancing health care in the region. We are thankful for the generosity of our community and their unwavering support.”
Cantley noted the surprise contribution from Tri-State Roofing & Sheet Metal Company and the Spartan Foundation on Giving Tuesday when Tri-State President Jason Lewis delivered a $100,000 check to support the development of the region’s first Women and Children’s Hospital.
