A pilot was rescued after a small plane crashed into the ocean next to a beach in Boca Raton, Florida, on Saturday morning, August 22, according to authorities. This footage posted to X by @schdetf, also known as SCHD STAN/Craig Sutton, shows the moment the aircraft crashed and a lifeguard helping a woman out of the water and onto the beach. The Boca Raton Police Department said the pilot was the sole occupant of the single-engine aircraft, and that no one was injured. According to local news outlet WPBF, the Federal Aviation Administration said the flight departed from Fort Myers and was headed the Bahamas when it declared an emergency. The plane had been cleared to land at Boca Raton Airport before the crash occurred, they added. The plane was scheduled to be removed from the water Sunday morning, police said.
