MATT CARDONA steps up to TNT Champ Adam Copeland’s Open Challenge! | 3/30/24, AEW Collision
Since his exit from WWE, Cardona has been making waves across various wrestling promotions like MLW, AEW, and AAA as well as venturing into Independent wrestling circuits. Despite his successful appearances, he is looking forward to foray into the world of acting. He is looking for a television role that aligns with his demands and criteria.
Speaking to “Barstool Rasslin,” he claimed that creative freedom and money are the two primary requirements that he seeks in his next career opportunity. “It all comes down to the two Cs…Cash plus Creative equals Cardona. I don’t want to just be another guy on the roster. Been there done that… I want more than that. I want to be able to sink my teeth into something,” stated Cardona about his future professional plan.
Even though Cardona achieved enormous professional success in the realm of professional wrestling including winning the WWE United States Championship, he expressed his interest in exploring new opportunities beyond his well-established achievements. Reflecting on his accomplishments, Cardona proudly noted, “There are titles in my closet that I don’t even know which promotion they’re from. I did it.”
This sense of achievement fuels his desire to move on to a major television company, where he can make a substantial impact. “Now is the time to go to a major TV Company,” is what he stated on the subject. Earlier this year, Cardona made a notable appearance on “AEW Collision,” stepping up to an open challenge from Adam Copeland and competing for the AEW TNT Championship. Despite the high-profile nature of this match, Cardona did not secure the win and subsequently faced a setback with his injury.
Now that he’s back in action, Cardona is more determined than ever to find a significant role in a major wrestling promotion that offers both financial reward and creative satisfaction.
