QUINCY (WGEM) – It’s been over a month and a half since Contour Airlines began flights between Quincy Regional Airport and O’Hare International Airport, and reviews of the airline’s performance are mixed.
“We’ve heard from customers that some customers have had a great experience,” said Quincy Mayor Linda Moore. “We’ve also heard from some customers that they didn’t have such a good experience. And when that happens, we want to know about it, because we want to hold Contour accountable.“
Moore said she has fielded several calls from Adams County residents about their experiences with Contour. While space, amenities and convenience are highlights of each flight, some are frustrated over an apparent lack of communication regarding weather and ground delays.
Contour flew 100 out of 102 scheduled flights in November — two flights were cancelled due to winter weather. Moore is still waiting on the total number of delayed flights from November, which she expects to be briefed on during a meeting with the president of Contour Airlines Friday, Dec. 19.
Moore emphasized a desire for real-time communication from Contour about delays, a fairly common occurrence when flying in and out of O’Hare during the winter months, so passengers can change their plans accordingly.
She encourages passengers to contact Contour’s Customer Care Department if they encounter any issues with their flight.
Moore also advises anyone flying out of Quincy for the holidays to arrive at least an hour prior to boarding and to schedule plenty of extra time to make any connecting flights in Chicago.
