Saks Fifth Avenue Spotlights Spring Trends at Fashion Week El Paseo Finale

Matching sets make dressing effortless, and they were out in full force. Women’s suits showed up in buttercup yellow and full-on fuchsia. A men’s casual cotton suit looked smart in, yes, black.

We also learned that unisex cargo pants will never leave us, metallics are still shining bright, and refined takes on fringe, sequins, and crochet absolutely have a time and a place — and it’s now. Leather and faux leather are a big yes this season, also.

Standout accessories included a shapely straw hat to shield the sun and an oversized leather shoulder bag from Saint Laurent. Straw totes, subtle clutches, and chartreuse purses snuck into the mélange, along with can’t-miss statement bags by Valentino and Chanel.

For the finale, Etro rolled out an Italian carnival of vacation-worthy ensembles. Matching sets echoed in this portion of the show, though dresses leaned longer, as did cropped pants.

The opening top-and-skirt set featured a rainbow of paisley — a brand signature and wardrobe staple of the Etro fan base for more than four decades. Pieces to follow expressed the variety of the pattern that is possible with this print, made evergreen by the family-managed luxury fashion house based in Milan. Flowers and butterflies swirled into the designs amid surprises like a long, hooded cardigan in cobalt blue and a men’s solid cotton blazer in bold magenta.
