This makeup brush cleaner is a game changer – and it’s on sale

I’ll admit it, I don’t clean my make up brushes as much as I should. I can’t think about it for too long, because then my mind spirals worrying about how much bacteria I willingly smear onto my face every day.

It was always such a faff. Firstly, there’s the timing. Brushes have got to be cleaned at a time when you won’t need to use them for a while, so they can dry properly, which requires thought and scheduling. Secondly, I basically made up a solution of soap and shampoo without any prior research, so would spend ages washing and rinsing, washing and rinsing, until the water wasn’t a shade of orangey brown anymore. Thirdly, my sink is white. Need I say more about the state of it post-clean?

I could have sought professional guidance, looked online for suggestions perhaps, but I resented the whole process so much that I couldn’t bring myself to do it the proper way.

Well, that was until I discovered a proper make up brush cleaner. I don’t want to be dramatic, but it’s changed my life. The gadget I’m referring to is the

. At first, it seems daunting. There are various bits in the box and an instruction manual. When I press the button on one of the parts it makes a vibrating noise. I’m intrigued.

It turns out it’s very easy to put together. There’s a bowl for cleaning and sachets of cleaning solution to use inside for brushes with liquid make up on them. Those that are used for powder products can be washed with soap and water, it says. Then there’s a stand with lots of rubber tubes on it, in which you stick your brush in depending on the size. The other end of the rubber tube is for attaching to the handle. You then simply pop the end of the brush into the bowl, press the button on the handle, and away it goes. It spins the make up brush at speed in the solution, and you’re advised to leave it in there for about 10 seconds. Then, you spin the brush out of the solution (still in the bowl), and voila, it’s dry.

People, that’s it. Done. Make up brush washed, cleaned and dried in a matter of minutes. The powder brushes did take slightly longer to dry as they were washed with normal soap and water, and are generally fluffier brushes, but the whole process was so quick and easy. The StylPro Makeup Brush Cleaner & Dryer usually costs £30, which is well worth the investment considering you will be able to keep your make up brushes in better condition for longer. Plus, it saves on time and energy.

If that wasn’t enough to convince you to give it a go, #stylepromakeupbrushcleaner has 5.6 million views on TikTok, so I’m not the only one who’s impressed. It’s also currently on sale at Boots, reduced to £22.49. Now’s the time to buy!
