'With either one you can’t go wrong': Trump backs Wilson and Evette ahead of SC Governor run-off – WYFF News 4

President Donald Trump has co-endorsed Attorney General Alan Wilson and Lt. Governor Pamela Evette for Governor of South Carolina.
This comes after Trump endorsed Lt. Governor Pamela Evette prior to the primary elections.
The president wrote on Truth Social:
“I love the Wonderful State of South Carolina for every reason in the book, including the fact that it is “loaded up” with truly GREAT people and Political Leaders. There are two Highly Respected Candidates running to be your next Governor in the June 23rd Republican Runoff Election, your current Lieutenant Governor, Pam Evette, and your current Attorney General, Alan Wilson. Both have had amazing careers, and have been with me from the beginning. They are MAGA and America First all the way! These were the two that I was hoping would get into a Runoff, and they did. I can’t hurt one of them by only Endorsing the other, so, therefore, I am going to Endorse, for Governor of South Carolina, both Pam Evette and Alan Wilson! It’s a Wealth of Riches – With either one you can’t go wrong. Vote for Pam or Alan — They will not let you down! President DONALD J. TRUMP”
Wilson responded on X, writing,
“I am honored to have the endorsement of President Donald J. Trump. President Trump has fought harder than anyone to secure our border, restore American strength, drain the swamp, protect our freedoms, and put working families first.
As South Carolina’s Attorney General, I have been proud to stand with him in that fight. I defended President Trump’s executive orders. I backed his America First cabinet. I fought back against the Left’s lawfare and political prosecutions. I defended election integrity. I took the Biden Administration to court when they tried to force their woke, unconstitutional agenda on South Carolina.
And I never backed down.
When President Trump needed fighters, I was in the fight. Now, I am running for Governor to keep South Carolina strong, conservative, and free. Thank you, President Trump. I am grateful for your support and I am ready to keep fighting for South Carolina.”
In a post on Facebook, Evette responded, saying,
“I was proud to come in first as President =AZauFnjGQVyjqWVLDd53bsS5g59cXmsu83WMtF8yuAdKRzqHCVa0SyAfgWkI3MMzycjyDK5XZd8Wlzal6Vi5V9P1EtbMeKCv8cXPi4D73hiu8CpO2ItQXzfqfTwVwqMDyyNLXf027F2V3IM_2-xRY0p5CzrGj7Gr7ogMzl7DggXalw&__tn__=-]K-R” role=”link” tabindex=”0″>Donald J. Trump’s endorsed candidate for Governor on June 9th. Looking forward to doing it again on June 23rd.
Get out and vote on Tuesday, and let’s Keep South Carolina Winning!”
The two candidates will go head-to-head for the Republican nomination on Tuesday, June 23, for the runoff election.
