2 hospitalized after driver crosses into oncoming traffic in Oakland County

COMMERCE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A crash in Commerce Township hospitalized two people Friday morning.

It happened at about 11 a.m., Jan. 2, on West Pontiac Trail, near Huntley Drive.

According to authorities, a 24-year-old from Dearborn was driving eastbound in a 2022 Tesla when they crossed over into oncoming traffic and struck a westbound 2010 Honda driven by a 73-year-old from Walled Lake.

The driver of the Honda was hospitalized in critical condition and the driver of the Tesla is expected to survive.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time.

The investigation is ongoing.
