****New part 6**** Using Al as a research and writing partner, l’ve been building a year-by-year forensic biography of Epstein’s early life (1967-1991). I’m a construction worker, not a journalist. I’ll be releasing each chapter representing a single year as I complete them. Parts 1-2-3-4-5-6

Chapter 6: 1972 — The Invented Year

In January 1972, Jeffrey Epstein leaves Cooper Union without a degree — not in June 1970 as he would later claim. The Fidelifacts background investigation (EFTA00187090) establishes the primary record against which his constructed biography can be measured: fabricated degrees at both Cooper Union and NYU, a fictitious UC Berkeley lectureship at $400 a week, a supervisor conveniently placed on sabbatical in Israel, and a birth year shifted three years forward. The Europe trip with Terry Kafka — Sabena Airlines to Brussels, roughly two months — falls in this period, and both Kafka’s letter and Paula Epstein’s birthday book entry confirm its significance: the transformation Kafka witnessed was what opened the Dalton door. By February 1974, NYU enrollment ends with a bounced tuition check and a lawsuit. The financial paradox is complete — no documented income, no degree, no address, yet seven consecutive summers in Europe and a fur coat in London. The gap between 1973 and 1986, when the Wexner relationship begins, is the central unresolved question of the biography. What the chapter establishes is where that gap starts: with a twenty-year-old whose documented biography and constructed biography have already become two different documents describing two different people.
