Dave Bautista believes this former WWE Champion has unlimited acting potential.
After taking the world of WWE by storm as Batista and becoming a multi-time World Champion, Dave Bautista turned his attention to the world of acting, impressing fans with roles in films like Guardians of the Galaxy, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, and Knock at the Cabin.
During a recent interview with BuzzFeed Celeb, Bautista was asked which WWE star he believes could follow in his Hollywood success. He indicated that if CM Punk decided to shift focus away from professional wrestling, he could do well in the acting world.
“You know who I think I really overlooked as an actor? I don’t know if he hasn’t pursued it as much as he’d like to because he’s still heavily pursuing professional wrestling, but it is CM Punk, Phil Brooks. His potential in acting is pretty unlimited. I really want to see more from him in acting. I’d actually love to work with him because I think he has a passion for acting, but I think still his heart is in professional wrestling, and until he’s able to let that go a little bit, he’ll never be able to fully envelop himself in acting, but I think Phil Brooks is a great actor.” (h/t Fightful)
Drew McIntyre Stars With Dave Bautista In “The Killer’s Game”
Back in July of 2023, it was reported that Drew McIntyre would be the latest WWE star to make his way to Hollywood as he’d landed a role in the action comedy thriller The Killer’s Game. Dave Bautista takes on the starring role in the film, playing veteran assassin Joe Flood. An IMDB description of the movie reads as follows:
A veteran assassin is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness and authorizes a kill on himself. After ordering the kill, an army of former colleagues pounce and a new piece of information comes to light. Insanity ensues.
McIntyre plays the role of Rory McKenzie, though little is known about his character at this time.
The first trailer for The Killer’s Game was released in June.
