Top AEW star’s contract status fuels retirement speculations | WWE News

AEW Superstar Dustin Rhodes’ contract is set to expire in the month of September, and the fact that he hasn’t re-signed a fresh contract has fueled a lot of speculations about his status with the company, including one revolving around his retirement.
Dustin Rhodes has been a staple part of the main AEW roster ever since the company was first formed in the year 2019, and has been involved in multiple feuds against popular superstars in the company. He’s one of the most influential wrestlers in the locker room and has played a significant role in taking the company to where it is today.

Will Dustin Rhodes retire from AEW and professional wrestling in September?

As of now, it’s unclear if he’s considering retirement once his contract expires in the month of September. However, previously when talking about this incident, he eliminated all possibilities of such a thing happening.
He said, “Wrong! Jeeze guys, do better. Yes my contract is up in September, and No, I am absolutely NOT DONE. Having the best matches of my life and hopefully, God willing I will get to retire on my own terms, respected with a full heart. Hopefully Negotiations go well because I am damn worth the world. The only things that matter to me are: taking care of my family first and foremost, and finishing up when I am ready, and how I envision my retirement. So hold off guys, This biz is my life and I love doing it for you, while still having fun and able. #KeepSteppin and thank you all for your continued love and support!”

While this eliminates the possibility of him retiring from the industry, there’s a possibility that he might quit AEW and join his brother, the current Undisputed World Heavyweight Champion in the WWE, Cody Rhodes. This part however, is completely speculative for now, so readers are advised to take this with a grain of salt.
There’s a high chance that he might continue with the AEW, considering how much he’s contributed to the company ever since he’s joined the Jacksonville-based promotion back in 2019.
