A new Trader Joe’s store is coming to Central Florida. Here’s where

MELBOURNE, Fla. – While many Florida residents may be big fans of the state’s native grocery chain Publix, the specialty retailer Trader Joe’s gets a similar amount of love.

As such, these fans may be excited to learn that Trader Joe’s is planning to open up several new stores — including one here in Central Florida.

That’s according to the company’s website, which unveiled the locations for the six new stores earlier this month.

Per the website, the store will be situated at 2221 Town Center Ave. in Melbourne, though no details have been released at this time about when the grand opening will take place.

“At Trader Joe’s in Melbourne , we see ourselves as your neighborhood grocery store. Step inside and you’ll find unconventional and interesting products in the Trader Joe’s label like Mandarin Orange Chicken and Cold Brew Coffee Concentrate, as well as everyday basics like milk, eggs, meat, bakery items, and fresh produce.

We are a good source for great cheese, and we offer a vibrant selection of fresh flowers. Most importantly, we offer all of our delicious, quality products at the very best prices. We’re happy to be part of your community, and proud to offer you unique products and an exceptional shopping experience, every day.”

Trader Joe’s, ‘About This Store’

Plans for the Melbourne site were hinted at earlier this year when a building permit was filed for it, showing that the store is slated to open at The Avenue Viera shopping center.

The closest Trader Joe’s location for many in Brevard County is all the way out in Orlando or Winter Park, making it a hassle to get there for a regular grocery trip.

So far, only six Trader Joe’s stores have been opened in the region, making this the seventh Central Florida location once it opens.

Other Central Florida locations include:

  • Daytona Beach — 1511 Cornerstone Blvd.

  • Orlando — 8323 Sand Lake Road

  • Palm Harbor — 33591 US Hwy. 19 N.

  • St. Petersburg — 2742 4th Street N.

  • Tampa — 3808 W. Swann Ave.

  • Winter Park — 131 Orlando Ave.

The chain’s massive popularity is no small feat. Earlier this year, Trader Joe’s tied with Publix as the most satisfying grocer among consumers nationwide, according to the American Customer Satisfaction Index.
