Atlanta’ alum Khadiyah ‘KD’ Lewis dead at 44
Khadiyah “KD” Lewis, known for her run on “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta,” died last week at the age of 44.
The reality star’s brother Jay confirmed her death on Thursday in a statement to The Shade Room. He said she died on May 30 but he did not intend to disclose her cause of death or any other details.
“This has been an extremely emotionally devastating time,” Jay told the outlet. “All prayers, condolences, and well wishes are sincerely appreciated.”
A funeral for Lewis will take place in her hometown of Oklahoma City on June 11, according to an online obituary. Lewis’ family will also be hosting a memorial service via Zoom on June 14 “to offer the many people whose lives she touched an opportunity to celebrate her life,” Jay said.
Lewis’ other brother, Elijah, paid tribute to his sister earlier this week in a heartrending Facebook post.
“To think that I’ll ever have the words to describe the person you’ve been and the legacy that you left behind would be erroneous,” he wrote. “Long Live my sister Khadiyah Lewis. You left behind a legacy most individuals can only dream of. Thank you for loving me the way you did and always having my back no matter what.”
Lewis had recurring appearances on the third season of “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” in 2014, eventually graduating to be a supporting cast member during season 4. Throughout her run, she appeared as both a business consultant and the girlfriend of rapper Yung Joc.
Representatives for “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” did not immediately respond to a Daily News request for comment.
