Becky Lynch No Longer Under Contract With WWE

Becky Lynch is officially a free agent.

On the May 27th episode of WWE Raw, Lynch lost a steel cage match against Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan after losing the title to Morgan at the King and Queen of the Ring Premium Live Event in Saudi Arabia 2 days prior. Ahead of time, it was reported that Lynch’s deal was set to expire on June 1st and a new deal had not been reached. Seen waving goodbye to the fans when the show went off the air and posting a short update on social media simply saying “To be continued”, Becky Lynch seemingly competed in her final WWE match for the foreseeable future.

As of midnight on June 1st, Lynch did not come to a new agreement with WWE meaning that her contract expired and the former Women’s Champion is now a free agent. With no non-compete attached, Lynch could effectively turn up for any promotion at any time. This is the first time since 2013 that Lynch is not under a contract.

What Does The Future Hold For Becky Lynch?

More details have been provided in regard to what is next for Lynch and her final days in WWE courtesy of Fightful Select. It is noted that Lynch initially re-signed back in 2021 and saw out the 3-year deal. WWE were aware that Lynch was going to take time off before she won the Women’s World Championship on Raw and there were no concerns that The Man would “do business” prior to her exit.

In addition to this, there were no last-minute negotiations between both sides and the company hopes to work with Lynch again in the future. Understandably, there is expected to be interest from other promotions given Lynch’s star power and legacy in the wrestling world. However, it should be noted that WWE is not expecting Lynch to sign with another company during her time away. Lynch was also described as “class” to deal with and both sides are on good terms.
