Elon Musk is no stranger to drawing controversy with his X posts, and the billionaire CEO seems to have done it again with a tweet about Jesus. Replying to another user’s comment, Musk said that he “agrees” with the teachings of Jesus, drawing the wrath of the internet. Here’s what the Tesla chief said.
Elon Musk tweets about Jesus
Elon Musk responded to a tweet about leading him to Christ with an offbeat tweet that has fans confused. Musk received some amount of backlash, too, for the tweet.
User @creation247 posted a photo of Musk, seemingly sitting in a Church, with the caption, “Someone needs to evangelize Elon Musk. Who will lead him to Christ?” Musk replied to this tweet with, “I agree with the teachings of Jesus.”
Many did not like Musk’s approach to this, pointing out how he had specifically clarified he agreed with the “teachings” of Jesus. “Agreeing with ‘teachings’ is separate from accepting as Lord & Savior,” one user wrote. Another user responded, “Now Accept Him as your Lord and savior.”
This is not the first time that Elon Musk has spoken about Jesus or faith. The Tesla CEO has referred to the subject multiple times in the past, too. In a 2024 interview, Musk had a similar claim. He said back then, “While I’m not a particularly religious person, I do believe that the teachings of Jesus are good.” He added, “I’m actually a big believer in the principles of Christianity. I think they’re very good.”
In another interview, Musk said he was “culturally” Christian. “I’m culturally Christian I grew up Christian I mean I was Anglican was baptized you know went to Sunday school,” he said in the video posted on X.
This new revelation from Musk has fans debating once again about his stance on religion. Musk has not clarified any further about what he meant by his tweet.
