The Environment Agency has issued a flood warning in the Monks Brook river area for today, Sunday, February 15.
Heavy rainfall is predicted to cause flooding from Chandler’s Ford to Swaythling, with an estimated 16mm of rain forecast.
The river level is anticipated to rise significantly, particularly affecting the recreation ground at Fleming Park and Kingfisher Road.
Chandler’s Ford and Stoneham Way, from Chestnut Way to the M27, are also at risk from surface water flooding.
Additional rainfall is predicted for Tuesday, February 17 and Wednesday, February 18.

On the flood warning, the Environment Agency stated: “We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and will ensure the river is kept free of reported blockages.”
Residents are encouraged to monitor local water levels and weather conditions, and report blockages to the Environment Agency hotline on 0800 807060.
The warning will be updated by 4pm on Monday, February 16, or as the situation changes.
