Florida Missing Child Alert canceled for 2-year-old out of Pinellas County

The St. Petersburg Police Department said the girl’s mother contacted them and said her child is safe.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — UPDATE: The St. Petersburg Police Department said the Missing Child Alert has been canceled, and the 2-year-old girl was found safe.

A Florida Missing Child Alert has been issued for a 2-year-old girl out of Pinellas County.

According to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), the girl was last seen in the area of 40th Avenue South in St. Petersburg. She is described to be 2-foot-3-inches with brown hair and eyes.

A detective with the St. Petersburg Police Department (SPPD) told 10 Tampa Bay that this has been an active case since May when the Department of Children and Families (DCF) conducted a wellness check but was unable to make contact with the child. On Friday, the DCF reported her missing to the police department, seeking assistance in finding her.

Authorities are asking anyone with more information on the girl’s whereabouts to contact FDLE at 1-888-356-4774 or SPPD at 727-893-7780.
