Four Sub-Par Performances Position U-M Second After Day 1 in Canada
» Paced by four sub-par rounds, Michigan opened the Canadian Collegiate Invitational with a 279 (-9) to sit second after day one at Oviinbyrd Golf Club. The 279 marked the Wolverines’ fourth straight sub-par team total to start the season.
» Nicolas Simon led the way with a season-low-tying 68 (-4), highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 18th. After reaching the green with a five-iron from 217 yards, he rolled in a 36-foot putt to close his round.
» Along with Simon, Dean Muratore and Jordan Hwang each posted 70s (-2), while RJ Arone added a 71 (-1) to round out U-M’s scoring.
