It may feel a bit too early to start thinking about the 2026 NFL Draft, but mock draft season will be upon us before you know it. In fact, for many fans, mock draft season started the minute the Green Bay Packers‘ 2025 season ended.
A lot is going to happen between now and April 23rd, when the draft kicks off in Pittsburgh. Right now, the Packers don’t have a first-round pick, and they’ll start their selections with pick No. 52, which is in the second round.

Not having a first-rounder in the 2026 and 2027 NFL Drafts was part of the price the Packers paid for getting Micah Parsons. They gave a lot to get a lot back in return, and that’s just part of the reality general manager Brian Gutekunst will have to work with unless he’s able to swing another trade and somehow get back into the first round.
So who should the Packers target in Round 2 and beyond? There are going to be a ton of names thrown around and many of them will be great picks.

Keith Abney II was a three-year player for head coach Kenny Dillingham at Arizona State and he was a big-time playmaker for the Sun Devils.

Last season, Abney was a first-time All-Big 12 player after notching 44 tackles (36 solo), two interceptions, one tackle for loss, one sack, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and 12 passes defended.
He’s a physical cornerback at 6-foot, 190 pounds. He’s constantly around the football and sticking his hands into the honeypot.
“Abney has only average size but plays bigger (and more competitively) than he looks,” wrote Matt Schneidman of The Athletic. “He is a little bit of a wild defender, which NFL route runners will take advantage of while he matures. But his fluid change-of-direction skills help him play sticky in coverage.”
Abney notched 21 passes defended over three seasons and totalled six interceptions at Arizona State.

This is a kid who plays like a first-round pick, and there’s a chance he could instantly become the Packers CB1.
He’s got a competitive spirit when he plays, and he’s an elite athlete.
A former 3-star recruit from Waxahachie, Texas, he was a competitive speed roller skater before he got into football and was a two-way star for Waxahachie High. He also ran track and posted a 11.1 second 100-meter dash in high school.
Abney is projected as a day two player who will likely be selected in the second or third round.
