Hispanic Heritage Month events happening in Northeast Florida
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Hispanic Heritage Month has officially begun, and so are the celebrations to embrace this community across Northeast Florida.

Here is a list of some of the events happening in our area.
Viva La Fiesta
This free and family-friendly event will be held on Sunday, Sept. 21, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Phoenix Art District. The event, hosted by Yaya Productions and Vystar Credit Union, will feature many vendors, food and live music.
Jaguars Hispanic Heritage Tailgate
In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Jaguars will be hosting an exclusive tailgate event on Sunday, Sept. 21, before the game against the Houston Texans.
The tailgate will include authentic Cuban bites by 1928 Cuban Bistro, a live DJ and family-friendly activities and giveaways.
Rio Latino
UNATION will kick off Hispanic Heritage Month with Rio Latino, a celebration of Latin culture, music, and community spirit along Jacksonville’s Southbank Riverwalk.
The event will include live bands performing traditional and contemporary Latin music, live DJs, and food vendors serving authentic Latin American cuisine.
The event will be held on Thursday, Sept. 18, from 5 to 8 p.m.
Voces y Caras: Latinx Communities of North Florida
This digital oral history project at the University of North Florida explores the power of people’s stories, seeks to make visible hidden communities, and enables processes of self-discovery by students of Latinx origin in the U.S.
The opening reception will be on Thursday, Sept. 18, at 5 p.m. inside UNF’s Lufrano Intercultural Gallery at the Student Union. The exhibition runs until Oct. 22.
