Editor’s note: The Hubbard County GOP and Hubbard County DFL have agreed to take turns selecting a topic each month and sharing their political perspectives in the Enterprise. This month’s topic is “family values.”
Republicans, like myself, believe the family is the fundamental building block of society. The primary institution for moral instruction, education and economic stability.
When the family unit weakens, society risks drifting toward collectivism and losing its moral compass.
We support traditional nuclear families, while Democrat organizations like Black Lives Matter call for a disruption or abolition of the nuclear family. (
.)
Republicans, like myself, view faith as the cornerstone of family values. We believe in the sovereignty of the Most High God, and that we should seek his guidance in all things.
We believe that life begins at conception and ends at natural death. Minnesota House Democrats voted against The Born Alive Infant Protection Act (House File 24 and Senate File 3518), which would have protected all babies born alive from being denied life saving care.
We believe that two of the primary functions of the family is procreation and child-rearing, while Democrats support sterilizing and mutilating children when they are vulnerable and easily misguided.
We believe that the family unit works best with a monogamous father and mother in the home raising the children together. Democrats support policies which encourage single motherhood and polygamy in the guise of feminism and sexual freedom.
We believe that parents have a right and duty to raise their children with the values best for them. Democrats would rather the state decide how your children are taught and raised.
Recently, we were shocked and saddened by the shootings of two Democrat lawmakers and their spouses – State Sen. John Hoffman and his wife, who survived multiple gunshot wounds, along with State Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband, who both passed away from their injuries.
Our hearts and prayers go out to their families. Nobody should have to worry about this kind of senseless killing.
Some on the left blame Republicans for somehow inciting violence. The level of gaslighting by the political left on this issue is astonishing, as if they didn’t call for assassination of our president multiple times, encouraged riots in the streets, burned down businesses and police stations, attacked people in their cars, etc. They blame Republicans, though the man appears to be more religious than political, with his immigrant NGO work and sitting on multiple boards for multiple Democrat administrations.
Why don’t they just come out and say that they believe we Christians are the problem? No, Christians are not the problem, but in fact, the solution. One deranged mad-man changes nothing in this regard. (
