If I had 20 minutes one-on-one with Gavin Newsom, here’s what I’d ask—questions millions of Californians are asking too:
1️⃣ Homelessness
Why are we still managing homelessness instead of ending it? Where is the statewide accountability, mental-health infrastructure, and housing pipeline that permanently moves people off the streets?
2️⃣ Federal Feuds vs. State Solutions
How do we protect Californians without getting trapped in endless political wars with Donald Trump or any administration—while still demanding federal responsibility and funding?
3️⃣ Reparations & Repair
What is California’s real plan—not symbolism—for reparations and land, housing, and economic repair for Native Americans and Black & Brown communities who built this state and were systematically displaced?
4️⃣ Hollywood & Jobs Leaving California
How does a multi-billion-dollar film industry—born in Los Angeles—continue to film everywhere but home? Where are the competitive tax credits, rebates, and long-term protections for California workers?
5️⃣ Fire Survivors & Displacement
Malibu burned. Lives were upended.
And in Altadena—a historic Black community dating back to the 1920s—families are displaced with no clear relief, no fast-tracked rebuilding, and no protection from land grabs. How is this justice?
6️⃣ Gentrification & Fear
South Central LA and beyond have been transformed—but not for the people who lived there. How do we stop gentrification that extracts culture while offering no ownership, no protection, and communities living in fear?
Governor, we respect your voice and your fight—but leadership is measured by outcomes.
