TAHOE TRAGEDY: 8 skiers have been found dead after California’s deadliest avalanche near Lake Tahoe. Crews continue searching for 1 missing skier who is presumed dead after a slide the size of a football field swept through a backcountry ski area near Castle Peak.
2 men and 7 women are among those who died. Victims include mothers connected to the Sugar Bowl ski team, guides, and clients caught in the massive avalanche.
6 survivors were able to dig out. Severe weather delays recovery efforts. One of those who died is the spouse of a Tahoe Search and Rescue Team member. | @claudialcowan
