Jennifer Lopez Gives Cash to Homeless Man Amid Viral ‘Rude’ Accusations

Jennifer Lopez is once again making headlines—this time for a moment off the red carpet that quickly caught public attention.

Days after online critics accused the superstar of being “rude” during a viral Golden Globes clip, Lopez was spotted by TMZ in Los Angeles giving money to an unhoused man during a casual outing.

The 56-year-old actress initially walked past the man as she made her way toward a waiting SUV. Moments later, as he approached the passenger side, Lopez lowered the window and handed him a noticeable wad of cash.

The man appeared visibly excited by the gesture, exclaiming, “I don’t care, I love you. Thank you Jennifer. Oh, yes baby,” as Lopez smiled before continuing on her way.

The sighting quickly spread online, with many noting the contrast between the generosity of the moment and the criticism Lopez had faced just days earlier.

But Lopez carried an ultra-rare blue crocodile Hermès Kelly Sellier handbag—reportedly valued well into five figures—from which she pulled the cash while juggling a coffee.

The outing followed renewed attention on Lopez’s brief interaction with Glambot creator Cole Walliser at the 2026 Golden Globes. A tightly edited behind-the-scenes clip from the red carpet made the rounds online, with some viewers accusing Lopez of ignoring Walliser as he prepared her for the high-speed slow-motion shot.

Comments labeling Lopez a “snob” or calling her behavior dismissive racked up tens of thousands of likes, reigniting long-running “diva” narratives that have followed the singer and actress throughout her career.

Walliser, however, later addressed the situation directly, urging viewers to slow down their assumptions. “I didn’t take it personally. It didn’t feel rude in that moment,” he said in a video response.

He explained that the Golden Globes carpet had already closed and that Lopez appeared focused on completing the moment efficiently. “She was just down to business,” he said, adding that her body positioning—facing away as she prepared to pose—was being misread online.

Walliser also emphasized that red carpets are chaotic working environments. “These celebrities, they’re at work,” he noted, explaining that Glambot appearances are optional and often happen amid constant movement and noise.

Lopez has not publicly addressed the backlash surrounding the Glambot moment. Her representatives have declined to comment.
