Oregon Health & Science University and Adventist Health Portland have worked together since 2018 to expand access to high-quality health care for people in East Multnomah County. As the health care landscape continues to evolve and grow increasingly complex, both organizations have reviewed their partnership to ensure it best supports patients and health care teams.
Effective Nov. 7, 2025, OHSU and Adventist Health Portland have mutually agreed to move to an updated affiliation model that does not include a shared financial structure. Adventist Health Portland will also transition to the Adventist Health enterprise instance of Epic, or electronic health record system. OHSU and Adventist Health Portland are collaborating to ensure their respective EHR systems remain connected and maintain seamless continuity of care for patients.
This change does not affect the clinical services provided by OHSU at Adventist Health Portland. OHSU will continue to offer care in key specialty areas, including the Knight Cancer Institute, emergency medicine, orthopaedic and urologic surgery, and hospital-based addiction medicine, among others. OHSU also remains committed to OHSU Health Family Medicine, East Portland Community Health Center, a federally qualified health center located on the Adventist Health Portland campus that opened in March 2024.
Both organizations remain deeply committed to continued clinical collaboration and to advancing their shared mission of delivering exceptional, compassionate, high-quality care to the communities they serve for many years to come.
