K-State Tennis Prepped for ITA Central Regional Championship
MANHATTAN, Kan.– The K-State women’s tennis team will all travel down to the ITA Central Regional Championship in Norman, Okla., for competition on Thursday-Monday (October 16-20) at Headington Family Tennis Center, hosted by Oklahoma.
Starting on Thursday, freshman Martaa Chogsomjav, junior Margaret Jaraczewski, sophomore Chanel Rustemova and freshman Diana Smolinska will compete in qualifying singles matches.
On Friday, junior Maralgoo Chogsomjav will begin the main draw in singles play. Doubles competition will also start on Friday with duos of Maralgoo and Rustemova, Martaa and Smolinska and Jaraczewski and freshman Addison Renfro.
In the last tournament at the Cyclone Invitational on October 3-5, four Wildcats competed in Ames, Iowa. Jaraczewski went undefeated in three singles matches while Smolinska was also successful in two matches.
Prior to that on September 28, Martaa was crowned the Milwaukee Tennis Classic singles champion after six singles wins over the course of four days.
