Lehigh Falls To Boston U. In Home Finale

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh women’s soccer welcomed the Boston University Terriers to the Ulrich Sports Complex on Saturday afternoon in the team’s final home match of the season. The Mountain Hawks fell by a score of 4-0, eliminating the team from postseason contention.

Boston U. (9-5-3, 6-1-1) opened the lid on the game’s scoring in the tenth minute when Giulianna Gianino scored unassisted to take a 1-0 lead. Lehigh (3-10-3, 1-6-1) found opportunities in the first half with three shots on goal, but the score remained 1-0 BU headed into the locker room.

The Terriers found two goals in quick succession to open the second half, scoring in the 53rd and 54th minutes on goals from Mackenzie Stickelman and Olivia Avellar. The Mountain Hawks put two shots on goal in the frame before an 87th minute goal from Samantha Aronson sealed the deal for BU.

First-year Tori Okorodudu, junior Aminah Baruwa, junior Rylie Moschella and junior Elliot Forney provided the shots for Lehigh.

Senior Maggie Ousouljoglu started in goal for the Mountain Hawks, making three saves. BU’s Bridget Carr made five saves on the day.

The Mountain Hawks will conclude the regular season on the road against rival Lafayette on Wednesday, October 29 at 7 p.m.
