LIVE BLOG: No. 1 Florida at No. 11 Auburn

It’s another highly anticipated SEC showdown this Friday night as the No. 1 Florida Gators travel to No. 11 Auburn for the Tigers’ second home meet of the season.

Florida enters the weekend fresh off a marquee win over Alabama, edging the Crimson Tide by just under two-tenths in a meet that came down to the final rotation. The Gators were sharp on bars and beam, but vault landings proved less consistent, with only one score above 9.900 coming from anchor Selena Harris-Miranda. A handful of uncharacteristic errors from otherwise reliable lineup mainstays suggest Florida’s 197.425 is far from its ceiling; clean up the vault landings and tighten execution, and an even bigger score is well within reach.

Auburn returns to Neville Arena looking to rebound from a disappointing SEC outing against Arkansas, where it finished more than a point behind after a particularly rough bars rotation that dipped below 49.000. While the Tigers hovered within a tenth or two of that mark on the other three events, they’ll need a performance closer to their season opener against N.C. State—when they posted a 197.150—to stay within striking distance of the top-ranked Gators. At home, Auburn will aim to steady its bars and capitalize on the energy of Neville Arena to make this matchup competitive.

The meet will be on the SEC Network at 8:45 p.m. ET, and scores can be found on Virtius.

Rotation 1: Auburn VT, Florida UB

Greaves (AU): Starting the meet off with a Yurchenko full, a little to the left and a hop back but stays in the lines. 9.750

Frazier (UF): Short on that first handstand but nice Maloney to Pak, looked a little far by made it work. Dismounts double layout and is a bit under rotated and has to take a step forward. 9.825

Leverton (AU): First of five ten start values and NAILS that Yurchenko 1.5!!! Sticks it with the slightest movement on her left foot but doesn’t move it off the mat. 9.875

Pilgrim (UF): Maloney up to Tkachev, nice. Pak down really nice. Dismounts full in and nails that landing! 9.925!

Neal (AU): Yurchenko 1.5 and almost sticks it and but starts falling out of it and college salutes. SO close to that stick! 9.825

McCusker (UF): Gorgeous stalder Maloney up to the high bar, Pak down, Maloney 1/2 up. Maybe a little short on that last handstand, stalder to double tuck STUCK. HUGE routine in this third spot! 9.975!!

Huff (AU): Yurchenko 1.5, just a small step back! WOW these landings are looking like they are just there! 9.825

Dicello (UF): HUGE Church to Pak, Maloney 1/2, and dismounts full in with the smallest step to the left! Great routine for her! 9.875

Zancan (AU): Front handspring, front handspring to front pike STUCK but her foot was out of bounds so it will be interesting to see what the judges do with that! 9.9!

Blakely (UF): Gorgeous first connection down to a Pak, inverted grip to a double front half out with the smallest step back on that dismount! 9.925!

Bell (AU): Looking forward to this one! Yurchenko double full, hops in place and takes a step forward on that landing. 9.750

Harris-Miranda (UF): Mounts with a great Ray, maybe a little low in height on that, nice shoot over done and back up with a stuck double layout dismount! WOW! What an cap to an outstanding bar rotation! 9.925

AFTER ONE: Auburn 49.175 VT, Florida 49.625 UB

WOW WOW WOW! Starting this meet off on a big note! Auburn looked much better this time around on vault and had landings that were almost there, but showed tremendous potential for sticking these vaults! With just small movements, and a few out of bounds on those lines, this is a vault lineup that has the makings to be incredible forward. Florida shined on bars this first rotation, putting up a HUGE 49.625, a season high for the Gators, highlighted by a trio of 9.925s and a near perfect 9.975 from McCusker. the Gators looked strong on this event and need to carry this momentum to vault, hone in on landings and continue upward from not its best vault rotation last competition. Same situation for the Auburn Tigers, continuing this momentum to bars where it struggled last season to go into the back half of this competiton strong.

Rotation 2: Florida VT, Auburn UB

Draser (UF): Yurchenko 1.5 to start, almost sits in down with a big squat and a couple steps back. 9.750

Neal (AU): Opens up with a Maloney to a Pak, really good. Dismounts with a toe handstand full to a double tuck with a step forward on that landing. 9.750

Bui (UF): Yurchenko 1.5 and is down, looks like she hyper extended her right knee. 9.225

*Carried off by Coach Field, will update is anything comes up.

Bartman (AU): Mounts with a blind to straddle Jaeger immediate shoot over nice. Nails that handstand and a blind to double front dismount with a big step back but a great addition to that lineup! 9.775

A. Disidore (UF): Yurchenko 1.5 and takes a couple steps back and sits it down. 9.300

Jong (AU): The return we are waiting for!!! Stalder Maloney to high bar, great Pak down. Maloney half up to the high bar and finishes with a stuck full in dismount! Slight chest down on that landing, but so much emotion in that performance! 9.850

DiCello (UF): Yurchenko 1.5 and two really big steps forward. Definitley going harder after those last two. 9.675

Booth (AU): Maloney up a little loose and down with a Pak, another slight leg separation. Maloney half up and a much better double layout dismount with a hop back on that landing. 9.800

Ferris (UF): Yurchenko 1.5 and NAILS that landing, the Gators needed that!!!! 9.925

Greaves (AU): Mounts with a Church to a Pak to an immediate toe handstand, right back up with a Maloney 1/2, and nails the dismount! 9.850

Harris-Miranda (UF): Yurchenko 1.5 and ANOTHER stick! 9.950!

Irvine (AU): Opens with a blind to huge piked Jaeger to shoot over, really nice. Fights for that last handstand and a nice full in dismount with a step back on that landing.

*no update yet for Bui

AFTER TWO: Auburn 98.300, Florida 98.225

A much improved bar rotation for Auburn giving the Tigers its best event total of the year so far. Highlighted by the return of Jong after a season ending injury in 2025, what an exciting moment, and what a debut back for her! Three 9.850s recorded in that rotation for the Tigers and a much better 49.125 for that event.

The Gators unfortunately suffered an injury to sophomore Bui in the second spot in vault, followed by a fall and then an uncontrolled landing in the third and fourth spots. Two veterans in Harris-Miranda and Ferris came in with two back to back sticks and gave the Gators the scores they needed although the team event total is certainly not what it wanted. With Auburn taking a slight lead, it will be interesting to see how the rest plays out heading into the back half.

Rotation 3: Auburn BB, Florida FX

Ahern (AU): Double wolf turn, really nice to begin. BHS LOSO, nice small adjustment. Cat leap to switch side, a little under that full split mark. Round off 1.5 and nails that landing! 9.875

Booker (UF): Opens up with a huge full in to starts and fights to keep that in bounds. Switch side to straddle full, nice rotation and extension on both those. Second pass, front thru to double tuck and a really great ending to that lead of for the Gators! 9.875

Hagle (AU): Full turn, slight adjustment. Front Aerial to BHS, good on that connection. Side aerial, a little off but moves into that beat jump well. Wolf jump to Double Stag Ring Jump to BHS swing down, love that! Gainer pike off the end and a small hop forward on that, but otherwise a really great routine! 9.850

A. Disidore (UF): Starts off huge double layout, great control on that landing. Switch side to straddle full, great height on that. Back 1.5 to front full, a little out of control on that landing, but a good cover and a good bounce back after vault! 9.875

Huff (AU): Side aerial to LOSO and bit wobble and bends her hips to save herself. Split jump to straddle 1/4, nice. BHS Gainer full off the side, a couple steps on that landing. 9.675

Ferris (UF): Coming off a fall last weekend, Ferris opens with a HUGE double layout, a little leg bend on that. Switch side to straddle full down to dance. Back 1.5 to front full, a little step to side but a much improved landing from last week! 9.875

Irvine (AU): Front toss to BHS, really smooth connection. Full turn a little off and readjusts. Switch leap to Gainer one armed BHSm love that. Jump connection, another little deduction and a stuck Gainer full off the end. Just looked a little off on everything after her series, but didn’t let the wobbles get the best of her. 9.800

Frazier (UF): Huge double layout, another great landing on these big passes. Switch ring switch half to straddle jump, really nice. Second pass front thru to double tuck and an excellent landing on that! 9.875

Greaves (AU): Double wolf turn and worked to stay on on that. Front aerial, nice. BHS LOSO, really nice. Split jump to double ring stag jump and a little off. Gainer Pike and a big hop on that landing forward. 9.375 (?) Thinking that double stag wasn’t given credit.

*long judges conference after Fraziers routine.

Blakely (UF): HUGE double front to stag jump, LOVe that pass. Torjete to straddle full, really great. Back 1.5 to front full, really great routine! 9.925!

Neal (AU): BHS LOSO LOSO, wow that was great. Straight up no movement. Switch leap to split jump, really great extension on that. Round off 1.5 and sticks it! Needed that after that last routine and Neal delivers! 9.9!

Sasson (UF): Collegiate debut!! Opens with a really good full-in. Switch half to a straddle full, nice and moves into her last pass. Front thru to double tuck, a little low chest but a good landing! 9.825

AFTER THREE: Florida 147.650, Auburn 147.400

A pretty consistent rotation for both teams in this third rotation. Four 9.875s for the Gators on floor, followed up by a 9.925 from Blakely and a collegiate debut in Sasson. Florida takes the lead heading into the last rotation only by.a few tenths over Auburn who had another hit rotation on beam capped with a great routine from Neal in the anchor spot. However Auburn isn’t getting those really big scores to push it over that 49.100 mark it has gotten across all three events thus far and needs a big number on the last event in order to take the win over Florida.

Rotation 4: Florida BB, Auburn FX

Draser (UF): Cotton Eyed Joe playing, perfect beam song. BHS LOSO, a little off but makes the adjustment. Switch leap to switch half, nice. Round off 1.5 and hops just a little in place on that, but starts this lineup off on the right foot! 9.825

Bartman (AU): Starts off back 1.5 to front layout, a little off center but good pass. Switch side half to straddle 1/2, nice height and extension on that. Double wolf turn and struggles on that. Nice double pike to end, takes a small step forward and a bit of chest down on that landing. 9.850

Pilgrim (UF): Quickly slated into this lineup, but a vet here. Candle mount to start. BHS LOSO, good on that. Nice full turn and moves into beat jump to front aerial, good on that. Switch leap to straight leap and really fights on that to not wobble and ends with a stick!! 9.850

Ahern (AU): Another double wolf turn to start, done really nice. First pass, front 1.5 to a huge LOSO, a little soft form on that LOSO. Second pass, a back 1.5 to front full, comes up a little short and steps to the right. Switch half to jump, a little soft legs on that too but a strong routine in the second spot. 9.800

Blakely (UF): Perfect triple wolf to double wolf, flawless. Front aerial to BHS, really good. Switch half to beat jump, nice connection on that. Gainer full off the side a scoot back on that landing. 9.90!

Neal (AU): First pass nice double pike, good control on that. Switch ring to switch half to wolf full, doesn’t fully get her feet together on that ending. Front thru to double tuck and a great landing on that with her chest up to end! 9.90!

Frazier (UF): Gorgeous full turn ending on toe. Front aerial to standing LOSO, perfect wow. Split jump to split ring and over extended wow. Cartwheel 1.5 with a small hop on that landing. 9.925!

Huff (AU): HUGE and gorgeous full in to start. Switch ring to Torjete full, really well done and moves quickly into her layout to front full to front tuck and big step out of that, but controls it into her ending. 9.9!

Harris-Miranda (UF): BHS LOSO BHS, perfect. Switch leap to straddle 1.4, really nice. Full turn, maybe the slightest adjustment. Dismounts round off 1.5 and another nailed landing for her! 9.950!

Greaves (AU): Front thru to double tuck, slide thats front foot and a little out of control. Really nice combination of ring leaps into her last pass. Really beautiful double pike to end!

DiCello (UF): Anchoring a great beam lineup for the Gators, mounts with a candle mount and into a nice wolf turn. Switch leap to split jump, nicely done. BHS LOSO LOSO the small adjustment but makes it worse. Front aerial, breaks her connection and grabs the beam. Dismounts with a BHS Gainer full off the side with a stick.

Bell (AU): Front double full to front layout and under rotates that quite a bit and step back. Really nice leaps to follow up. HUGE double pike to close it out! 9.800

FINAL: Florida 197.100, Auburn 196.700

Perhaps a closer meet than expected, but nonetheless a good finish for both teams. The Gators unfortunately suffered an injury in the second rotation on vault that threw off that momentum from a huge bar rotation. The Gators came back strong on both floor and beam to end with a 197.100, but may not have been the score it wanted coming into tonight. With the other three rotations being above a 49.4 total, the Gators should still be up there in the standings, but need these bigger scores in specifically the front half of the lineups in order to get to where some of these other teams already are this early in the season.

Auburn had a good improvement from its previous competition by over half a point, but is still looking to get back to its debut weekend of a 197 plus score moving forward. Big highlights for the Tigers, getting Jong back out on the floor with a solid 9.850 in the bar lineup, as well as come big scores throughout the competition, Zancan on vault, Neal on beam and floor and Huff on floor, all posting scores over a 9.9.  Auburn needs to take this momentum and use it to build at its next away competition in order to get itself in a good standing with both home and away scores.

Both teams are back in action next weekend in two more SEC matchups and will be looking to build upon this competition, taking the good and fixing those mistakes as they head into week four!

VT: Harris- Miranda Florida 9.950

UB: McCusker Florida 9.975

BB: Harris-Miranda Florida 9.950
