Nick Saban appeared on ESPN’s College Football Countdown and had his first chance to give his thoughts about Alabama’s tough start to the season.
The Crimson Tide, despite entering the game as the heavy favorite, fell to Florida State 31-17 on Saturday in the season opener.
“Obviously for me and for a lot of the ‘Bama fans, a disappointment that Florida State dominated the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball,” Saban said from Chapel Hill, North Carolina before UNC faced TCU. “But the good news is, every team has the best opportunity to improve from Week 1 to Week 2.
“Really going into the season, you don’t really know what you have for sure as a coach. You’re always very anxious about what might happen in the first game. I’m sure they’re all disappointed, players coaches alike. But they do have a great chance to improve from Week 1 to Week 2.”
Alabama will face Louisiana Monroe on Saturday (6:45 p.m. CT, SEC Network) at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
