Niners WR Jauan Jennings strikes Panthers safety Tre’Von Moehrig postgame following in-game low blow

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings struck Carolina Panthers safety Tre’von Moehrig twice shortly after the conclusion of the Niners’ 20-9 victory on Monday night, presumably retaliating after Moehrig hit him with a low blow during the game.

Jennings brushed past teammate Jake Tonges and delivered an open-handed strike to Moehrig with his right hand and followed with a left that was more of a push before he was shoved away by Carolina’s Krys Barnes and then pulled away by some teammates.

“The guy took a cheap shot and hit him in the b—-,” 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said after the game. “I was real proud of Jauan for not losing his mind out there.”

Video surfaced showing that during the game Moehrig delivered a low blow to Jennings with a left-handed uppercut.

“Man, TV (is) going to tell you what happened, man,” Jennings said. “I was just responding to me some childish behavior. That’s all it was.”

Jennings had the game’s first touchdown of the night, a 12-yard scoring pass delivered by Brock Purdy.

The wideout finished with five catches for 41 yards, while Moehrig had eight tackles.

Jennings and Moehrig could each potentially be fined and/or suspended.

The 49ers play at the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, while the Panthers host the Los Angeles Rams.
