Plantation teen dies in Florida Keys dive incident

GRASSY KEY, Fla. — The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that a South Florida teen died in a water-related incident following a dive on a hookah rig off Grassy Key on Saturday afternoon.

Deputies said Cameron Isaiah Queen, 17, of Plantation, was swimming back to the boat around 1:30 p.m. when he went underwater.

According to the sheriff’s office, CPR was performed on Queen as the U.S. Coast Guard and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission responded to the scene.

Queen was taken to Fishermen’s Hospital in Marathon, where he was pronounced dead.

Deputies said foul play is not suspected. Autopsy results are pending.
