Potential tropical development near Florida, heavy rain threat next week

The National Hurricane Center is watching a new area off the Southeast Coast, stretching through Florida and into the Northeast Gulf of Mexico.

Broad low pressure could form the next several days. Gradual development is possible mid-late next week with a 20% chance.

Regardless, this will be a heavy rain maker for Florida with some flooding potential.
