AUSTIN, Texas — Road closures and traffic delays are expected on Monday and Tuesday as Vice President JD Vance is expected to visit Austin.

According to city officials, Vance is expected to arrive in Austin on Monday. The nature of his visit is currently unclear.

According to the city, street closures for Monday morning are between Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and Cesar Chavez Street from Red River to Brazos streets. The street closures around Cesar Chavez Street are expected to last overnight.

City officials are urging the community to plan alternate routes to avoid traffic delays, use public transportation options and avoid parking along any part of the route.
