The United Football League (UFL) is marching towards their third season. With Mike Repole now behind the wheel, things have been shaken up a bit. The league has a new logo, new locations and now it seems they might possibly be working on a video game.
Insider Gaming reports that the UFL is exploring the possibility of creating an official video game for the league.
According to their report, they have sources that have stated the UFL has spoken with at least two companies to dive into the digital market.
Sources with knowledge of the talks say that the UFL has had talks with at least two companies about video game opportunities. Insider Gaming has learned of those companies, but to protect the sources who weren’t authorized to speak about the talks, won’t make those public at this time.
Additionally, Insiger Gaming says that the conversations “have been going on for months as the UFL is looking at new ways to expand their reach.”
This wouldn’t be the first time that a spring football league explored jumping into the gaming market. There were rumors that the XFL was in talks prior to COVID. There were also talk of a USFL video game as well. Unfortunately, none of those ever made it to market.
Is the third time a charm? We hope so, and we’ll keep you posted as more information comes out.
