Stephanie Vaquer signs with WWE | WWE News

Stephanie Vaquer Gonzalez recently made the headlines as she officially signed with WWE after being a well-known professional wrestler for years. The rising star hails from Chile and was born on the 29th of March, 1993. Gonzales began her training with Paul Slandering back in her home country and made her debut in the ring on February 2009. By August 2010 she started getting recognition for her documented matches.

She made the most out of her first few years in the ring making a reputation for herself for her power and strength. Later in 2013, her match with Heroina in Mexico won her popularity outside her country. She then went on to make her Japanese wrestling debut in 2018. The same year she was a part of WWE tryout in Chile that reflected her incrreasing prominence. The next year, she made history becoming the first female South American wrestler who was signed with CMLL (Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre).
Later in 2023, she made her mark when she won the inaugral Occident Women’s Tag Team Championship after deafeating Marcela and Princesa Sugehit. She was also widely recognised when she won the CMLL World Women’s Championship later that year in September. Earlier this year, she fought with Revolution Pro Wrestling and All Elite Wrestling.

Post her rising acclaim followed by an increase in her fanbase, Shawn Michaels the Senior Vice President of the Talent Development Creative in WWE made the announcement of her signing. Fans had anticipated her welcome to WWE and it marked the biggest moment in her career. Sharing the news on social media, Shawn Michaels shared, “Welcome to the WWE family, @Steph_Vaquer. See you in Orlando!” Vaquer shared the news on her platform, and responded to the tweet with a heart emoji.

On the 10th of July, CMLL as well as NJPW had announced that Stephanie had removed herself from their main roster. The 31 year old released a statement that announced her exit. It read, “At this moment I stop belonging to the ranks of CMLL and NJPW. Clarify, I AM LEAVING THROUGH THE BIG DOOR, forever grateful to the WORLD WRESTLING COUNCIL AND NEW JAPAN PRO WRESTLING, and in the best terms.”
Later, Fightfully Select had announced that she was bound to WWE. This came at a time when she was present backstage at NXT Heatwave. There is currently no information present on when or how she will be making her debut. However, fans are super excited to see how her journey with WWE will pan out.
