Sunday’s Triple Double Earns McGill SEC Freshman of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—The Southeastern Conference unveils its weekly honors, featuring Liv McGill as SEC Freshman of the Week. The recognition comes after McGill tallied Florida’s first triple-double since 2017 and posted back-to-back outings in double figures for scoring.

McGill’s triple double at Missouri was the highlight of her week, recording 21-points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists. In Columbia, McGill led UF in assists (10), rebounds (11), and steals (2), greatly contributing to Florida’s 26-point victory over Mizzou.

In UF’s first matchup of the week, McGill hit double figures in scoring with 10 points against No. 12 Kentucky (1/9/25). McGill also shot an impressive 67 percent from the three-point line to lead the Gators from behind the arc.

Overall, McGill spent the week dominating on both ends of the hardwood with a combined 31 points, 15 rebounds, and 12 assists.

The Gators will be back in action on Thursday, Jan. 16 when they travel to Oxford, Miss., for a 9 p.m. ET tip-off against Ole Miss.
