3 Waymo cars in 'standoff' cause traffic jam in San Francisco

The video shows three self-driving Waymo cars blocking a residential street after two of them appeared to have hit each other. The third seemed to have stopped when it sensed the others.

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — Video captured three Waymo self-driving cars frozen in an apparent “standoff” on a residential street in San Francisco.

It happened on Saturday, Dec. 6.

The video from TikTok user @chii_rinna shows the three Waymos blocking the street, with two appearing to have hit each other. The third, coming from the other direction, appeared to have stopped when it sensed them.

The TikTok user said the street is a dead end road, and the self-driving cars were blocking people from leaving.

“Are they just going to stay there forever?” a man can be heard on video asking.

A second clip posted shows a Waymo employee responding to the scene.
